Hey everyone,

The Linux containers project is an umbrella project which is composed of
various sub-projects. The most well-known among them currently are:
- LXC
- LXCFS
- LXD

All of these projects need to be maintained. That includes fixing bugs,
implementing new features, properly handling security issues, releasing
new versions, backporting fixes to stable branches, providing long
term support, maintaining test-suites and general infrastructure, etc.

To competently cover all of these tasks we have maintainers. Usually,
Stéphane Graber, Serge Hallyn, and myself are the ones that have the
most visibility but we are not the only ones!
Over the last weeks we added two new maintainers. We are very happy to
welcome:

1. Free Ekanayaka (@freeekanayaka on Github) as a new maintainer of LXD.
He has mostly been working tirelessly behind the scenes on the new
LXD clustering feature. He is the sole author of the new dqlite
   project ( https://github.com/CanonicalLtd/dqlite ) a distributed
SQLite database. In fact, he has written the same project twice: once
in GO and now in C to significantly increase performance. We're very
happy to have him on board.

2. Wolfgang Bumiller(@Blub\0 on Github) as a new maintainer of LXC and
   LXCFS.
Wolfgang has been a LXC contributor for a long term touching various
parts of the codebase. He has added multiple new features. Recently,
he added support for AppArmor stacking to LXC and introduced a new
way to add custom AppArmor rules per container by introducing the
   lxc.apparmor.raw config key.
We are usually very stingy in granting write access to low-level
projects such as LXC and LXCFS but Wolfgang has proven himself in
both projects as well as fixing various kernel bugs. We're very happy
   that he is on board.

In case you were wondering who currently maintains what. For LXD we have
Serge Hallyn, Christian Brauner, Stéphane Graber, Free Ekanayaka, Tycho
Andersen, and Mike Mccracken. For LXC we have Serge Hallyn, Christian
Brauner, Stéphane Graber, Dwight Engen, and Wolfgang Bumiller. And for
LXCFS Serge Hallyn, Christian Brauner, Stéphane Graber, and Wolfgang
Bumiller.

A big thank you to everyone who spends time helping maintain these
projects. All of your are doing outstanding work and your help is
greatly appreciated.
