Why? I think KVM guests should be treated at the same level as the containers,
so the simplest setup could look like:

WAN

host (routing + firewall + hw quirks)

|-- container-1 (samba/ftp/cups)
|-- container-2 (buildhost for i686/x86_64)
|-- VM-1 (windows)
|-- VM-2 (JVM)
|-- VM-3 (buildhost for ARM/MIPS)
