Thanks for the extended advice.

The keys installed fine. But "apt-get install -t artax-backports lxc
linux-2.6" complains that linux-2.6 doesn't exist. And "apt-get install -t
artax-backports lxc" says there's nothing to do.

Now, I've little experience with Debian backports, so may well be missing
the obvious. My approach has always been to build from source when a
distro's kernel or some package in it is lacking.
