Due to changes in command API (as far as I've detected source of this
problems) particular versions became incompatible, so you probably want
to stop your containers before upgrading. Now only thing you can do - to
send SIGINT or whatever your container's init uses (or KILL) to start
shutdown procedure. Then just KILL all inits and this will terminate
containers.
