[lxc-users] Success: LXC Desktop Container

Hi all,

with a gap of about one year, I give it a try, again: A special kind of a Desktop Container, running on a "headless" (just text console) home server and (pyhsically) re-using the video card, keyboard and mouse to act like a stand-alone desktop PC.

And this time, it seem to work *much* more better and in the next just take time to arrange it well at user level. I'm using

* Host: Gentoo and LXC 2.0.7
* Priv'ed Container: Ubuntu 16.04.2, bootstapped with the lxc-ubuntu template and lifted to meta-package unity-desktop

I took some ideas from the scripts and information of Uwe Stuehlers https://github.com/ustuehler/lxc-desktop , but don't use this hook script. Instead of this, I choose a much smaller number of dev nodes I passed though (as dev or as bind-mount)

Especially the strange problem with user sessions and seats has gone now.

happily

Guido
