[lxc-users] lxd preinstalled in images

Hi

I have just noticed that lxd is preinstalled in the official xenial image from cloud-images.ubuntu.com/releases.
What is the reason? Is it really needed?
And is there any drawback if deinstalled (besides nesting)?
