I'm seeing this exact same problem, LXC was working fine until yesterday. 
At which point most LXC commands now hang on this 
containers=get_containers(root=true) call until I ctrl-c them. Have waited 
large amounts of time for commands which used to complete almost instantly.

Anyone know why this has suddenly started happening and how I can work 
around it?
