[lxc-users] installation of package fails in container

As I wrote, you can try adding it to the initial template that creates the
containers.

/usr[/local]/share/lxc/templates/lxc-centos

Find PKG_LIST="yum initscripts passwd ... "

.. and append some packages to this list.

Updating them later might not work, due to the same error ...
