[lxc-users] huge packet delay between container and host

My host has IP 1.1.1.20 and my container has IP 1.1.1.2
the network is /24

traceroute to 1.1.1.20 (1.1.1.20), 30 hops max, 60 byte packets
 1  1.1.1.20 (1.1.1.20)  3025.621 ms !H  3025.580 ms !H  3025.568 ms !H

In the beginning I thought I could not ping the host, but that is not
the case, it is just terrible slow and it times-out. Any idea what may
be causing this? pinging any other IP is fine.
