I did a crude hack (post-up script in /etc/network/interfaces), though
the best way IMHO is to put distribution-specific hooks into network
configuration. Think of wireless going up and down or laptop switching
between Ethernet and wireless as it gets docked/undocked and adjustments
of routing and NAT needed.

I will share my Debian-specific scripts as soon as I get it to work
reliably.
