Hey everone,

So I've got bad news and good news today.

The bad news, for the containers team at Canonical anyway, is that after
years of working for us on containers, Serge Hallyn decided to move on
to new challenges. He left the company on the 31st of May.

Serge remains an active maintainer and contributor of all LXC, LXD,
LXCFS and CGManager, nothing is changing in this regard. The amount of
time he may be able to dedicate to those may however change a bit
depending on what his new job requires.

Now the good news, for you? We're hiring!

We have an open position on the Ubuntu Server team, focused on LXD development.
This involves upstream work on LXC, LXD and LXCFS and some related kernel work.

We're basically looking for:
 - Strong C knowledge (to work on LXC, LXCFS and kernel)
 - Go experience or at least strong interest (to work on LXD)
 - Kernel development experience (at least debugging skills)
 - Some experience with Debian-based distros would be nice
 - Experience with qemu/libvirt would be great too

As my team goes to a bunch of conferences every year, public speaking
skills is a plus. So is the ability to travel 4-6 weeks a year.

A lot of our work is done in the wider open source community, here on
this list, on Github, communicating with other projects, dealing with
security issues, doing releases, ...
Being an active contributor to other open source projects, having run
one of your own or even better, having contributed to one of ours before
will certainly be taken in consideration!

More details and and the application form can be found here:

Feel free to get in touch with me if you have any question!
