I've seen this error too.  It seems to be triggered by having cgroups listed
in lxc.mount.auto in an unprivileged container.

Try removing cgroups from lxc.mount.auto to see if that stops the error.  I
don't know how to fix it so you can have the cgroups in the container,
though, sorry.
