Yes, this is a limitation. It should be at least documented in the
lxc-monitor(1) man page, I guess (I will send a patch).

I understand your concern but for the moment, it is designed so that a
single command can be used to monitor all containers... And the beast
will probably need some redesign to allow multiple invocations.

By the way, have you tried the following command ?

lxc-monitor -n '.*'

It will monitor all state changes for all containers. Maybe it can fit
somewhere in your script ?
